Mumbai Attack:Home minister resigned
Indian Home minister Mr.Shivraj Patil resigned from his post on Sunday 30th Nov 08 after the rescue operation. Mumbai attack which lasted for three days and took 200 lives. Mr. patil has also served as commerce and defense minister earlier. His resignation comes barely months before general elections and reflects fears within Congress that poor functioning of the home ministry could cost them dearly.
Even before the Mumbai attacks, over 200 people had been killed in militant attacks this year, mainly from bomb blasts. But public anger has mounted with the latest violence.
The attack has told the reality of security measures implemented at such elite places, then what is situation of people at general public places.It is doubtful that the resignation of respected home minister would solve the situation or of any other help.Labels: Current
